Joe Garcia

              Joe Garcia was born in San Antonio, Texas, but his family moved to the Texas Gulf Coast south of Houston at a young age. Joe excelled in school, graduating in the top 10% of his high school class with honors. Joe knew he wanted to go to college but always wanted to serve his country. So upon graduation Joe enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps serving in both Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm in the first Persian Gulf War, where he received a meritorious promotion in wartime, a distinguished award. After serving in the Marines 5 years, Joe received an Honorable Discharge, returned to Texas and enrolled in college. Joe earned his Associates Degree from Alvin Community College, Magna Cum Laude. Joe then transferred to Baylor University in Waco earning his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. While at Baylor, Joe received his calling to become a lawyer and enrolled in the Baylor University School of Law. Baylor Law School has a reputation for being the "boot camp" of law schools because of its rigorous nationally ranked trial advocacy program in which Joe competed and excelled in mock trials.

              Joe began his law career in employment law for a civil litigation firm in Waco. Joe then moved to Houston in 2005 and practiced federal criminal defense work before joining a large defense law firm for 11 years specializing in traffic and criminal defense. While at that firm, Joe won Attorney of the Year 3 times in 10 years, a reflection of his professionalism, knowledge of the law, and hard work ethic. Joe has gotten thousands of misdemeanor cases dismissed as well as trying over 600 jury trials to verdict.  Joe has earned the respect of Judges, prosecutors, and fellow defense attorneys.  He has emceed at various bar association meetings and was a guest speaker at the Harris County Municipal Justice Bar Association where he lectured fellow attorneys on his exclusion of expert witness presentation. Furthermore, in 2012 Mr. Garcia was awarded the HCMJBAT Advocate of the Year Award.
